Score Valley Retreat, Ilfracombe

The hotel offers excellent rooms with a fabulous view of the garden. The bathroom across the landing was no problem at all. The rooms had lots of board games and an Honesty Bar, ensuring a comfortable and clean stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

I felt like I was in a peaceful valley with a little stream running through it, making it a beautiful location. The rooms were perfect, very quiet, like home - excellently decorated, comfortable, and with plenty of quality cupboards. The service was exceptional, with a welcoming and helpful staff, clear dog-lovers who went out of their way for us. The dining experience was very good, with fresh pasta prepared by Paul using vegetables from their garden. The facilities were well-prepared and welcoming. However, I found the breakfast a bit early for my taste and a bit isolated just on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, even though exploring North Devon was lovely. The concept of 'available on an honesty bar' was interesting, but I missed having easy access to Ilfracombe.

This hotel truly felt like a home away from home with its neat and clean rooms that reflected the style of the house. The service was extremely warm and friendly, making our stay special even during a difficult time for our family. The location, although out of the way, was still close enough to Ilfracombe, offering a picturesque view in a lovely valley. The dining experience was lovely, catering to individual tastes, and the facilities were exceptional.
